Beautiful failures

A beautiful 60s soviet amphibious car someone has in their shed. From a quite lovely website called English Russia with the beguiling tagline 'because something cool happens daily on 1/6 of the earth's surface'. I don't know if I believe this thing ever worked, let alone worked on water. This is perhaps because it reminds me too much of these:


which are the creations of belgian sculptor Panamarenko, whose works have been described as exercises in failure, which I like. I am undecided if I like the russian submarine car more or less if it works.
